Gran Canaria 2017 – A hike to Roque Nublo – 2017.03.07 – 4k

Hike from La Culata to Roque Nublo. We walked along the well-marked paths, and spent about 4.5 hours on the tour, including breaks.
Roque Nublo is a volcanic rock on the island. It is 80 meters high and the top is 1813 meters above sea level. It is one of the island’s most famous landmarks, and is a protected natural monument.
Roque Nublo is the second highest peak on the island, after Pico de las Nieves in the same area.
For Gran Canaria indigenous Roque Nublo a sacred monument and a pillar of heaven. It served as a ritual place for sacrifice to the sun god.
Plan to spend about two hours to the starting point if you are driving by car.

  1. Hace poco tuve oportunidad de hacer esta ruta de senderismo y me pareció ESPECTACULAR. Te invito a darte una vuelta por mi canal y revivirla! 😁👍

  2. Really enjoyed watching this video. Gran Canaria is my favourite of all the Canary islands because of the stupendous interior mountain scenery. My profile picture is even a silhouetted Roque Nublo photo I took from the Pico de las Nieves viewpoint a few years ago. Love the excellent Mercalli pan smoothing results too. Really effective.
